I feel so compelled to share the Norwex brand in my digital space here. It is a brand that I discovered last year and have since never stopped using.
Sharing my knowledge about this brand is one small way I can contribute to the global efforts in making this world a cleaner and better place to live it.
Using household products that minimise effort while cleaning effectively in a sustainable way is something that all families should be entitled to enjoy.
With continuous research backed by science, Norwex makes household cleaning easier than before. Best,
you can use merely water and its microfibre cloth most of the time, and your surfaces will be almost free from dust and bacteria.
What is Norwex?
Norwex is a company that originated in Norway in 1994. The company is now operating in 20 countries, mainly Europe and North America, with millions of households cleaning through Norwex’s effective cleaning tools and personal care products.
Norwex established its presence in Asia two years ago via its Malaysia office. Singapore is its next destination.
Norwex’s founders discovered effective cleaning using only a microfibre cloth and water. Over the years, through R&D, Norwex discovered its patented BacLock technology, improved weaving technology in its microfibre clothes to trap dirt.
Norwex Microfibre Cloths That Removes Up to 99% Bacteria On Surfaces
Not all microfibres are the same and have the same cleaning capability. How is Norwex different from the other cleaning cloth? Check out the science behind it!
Cloth Density
Microfibres cloth is made from polyester and polyamide. What sets Norwex microfibre cloth apart from other cleaning cloths is in its spilt of fibre, which is 1/200th of a human’s hair.
According to sciencedirect.com, microfibre cloth
“is generally safer to use on these surfaces than other cloths, particularly as it requires no cleaning fluid.”
To be classified as microfibre fibre, the fibre needs to be at least 1/6 of a single strand of human hair. The finer the spilt, the higher the quality and cleaning ability of the microfibre.
One of Norwex’s most popular cleaning cloths, the EnviroCloth, which is used as a general cleaning cloth, measures 35cm by 35cm. And yet, it has more than 3,000km of yarn weaved into the cloth!
This results in the extremely high density in the cloth that gives the cloth its absorbency, which in turn allows it to trap more particles than any other cleaning cloth.
Norex’s fabric has been heavily tested by independent quality assurance companies such as Weber & Leucht, an independent testing company from Germany.
According to test reports from Webder & Leucht, Norwex’s EnviroCloth removes 99% of bacteria from surfaces. Click here for the test report.
Another Webder & Leucht’s test report which I pulled out from Norwex’s website.
A Self-Cleaning Cloth.
Norwex’s propriety BacLock™ system helps the cloth self-purify with the silver fused into its microfibre.
According to Science Magazines, scientists have long known that silver is a potent antibacterial agent.
Silver ions perform their deadly work by punching holes in bacterial membranes and wreaking havoc once inside. They bind to essential cell components like DNA, preventing the bacteria from performing even their most basic functions.

So How Does Silver Fused into the Norwex Microfibre Cloth Counter Bacteria?
According to Norwex, silver actually inactivates bacteria cells in the cloths in three ways.
Firstly, silver breakdown a cell’s life-supporting functions by inhibiting the transmembrane transport thereby starving the bacterium.
Secondly. silver inactivates the intracellular enzymes that “digest the food”.
Lastly, silver damages the bacterium cell’s DNA so that it cannot reproduce.
My Personal Experience As A Norwex User
I have been using Norwex EnviroCLoth, Window Cloth and Kitchen for years. Grease from daily cooking, huge window panes and toilet mirrors have always been my pain points.
Kitchen Cloth
We used to spray kitchen cleaner over our countertops and kitchen walls to remove greases from cooking. These days, cleaning is super easy for us.
With only the kitchen cloth and water, oily surfaces are effortlessly gone. The experience for us as first-time users was amazing!
And no worries about residual from the kitchen cleaner that is filled with unknown chemical products that contaminate our countertop. We can now safely pick up food spills on the table and put them back into our mouths.
And the oven! We used to crack our heads over cleaning the oven properly without soap because we couldn’t imagine eating food cooked together with soap residue. So we tried baking soda and lemon and mm, considered cleaning done.
My mummy friend with 4 kids like me is so impressed with how effectively the kitchen cloth cleans up the oily floor too!
You know how kids mess up the floor with their developing motor skills. And we are both looking forward to getting our hands on Norwex’s mop to reduce our workload further!
EnviroCloth and WIndow Cloth
Similarly, watermarks are history. No more heavy-duty cleaning of windows. I love streak-free mirrors and windows.
The Norwex EnviroCloth cloth cleans the glass panes so well, picking up every speck of dust. Use the window cloth to dry away the residual water drops to give your mirror, glass and any other shiny objects at home a sparkly polished look.
In fact, using a mildly wet window cloth suffices if your glass panes ain’t so dirty like mine.
Dusting Mitt
The Norwex’s dusting mitt is my latest love.
With sensitive airways and skin, I often get eczema and asthma from dusting the house, even when using a piece of wet cloth.
The mosquito nets at home are the hardest to clean. Dust sticks stubbornly onto the net.
For years, I tried various ways to clean the mosquito nets, from using the vacuum cleaner to a normal wet cloth and even the wet EnviroCloth!
As a result, we had to regularly bring down the entire door-sized mosquito nets to wash them in the toilet.
This brought more dust into the house, and the cleaning process was very time-consuming and strenuous. I often get rashes all over myself, especially my face, after a morning of washing.
I finally bought myself the dusting mitt last week. The mitt works well dry and wet.
In my case, a wet mitt works better for a very dirty piece of mosquito net. The net was perfectly cleaned just after a few wipes.
This major discovery is a cause for celebration for me! I no longer dread cleaning the mosquito net, and no longer fear asthma or eczema!
A dry mitt is perfect for cleaning bookshelves and books! Fitted on your hand like a glove, the mitt gives more control to the cleaning and reaches the uneven surfaces on the shelves.
Wanna Try Cleaning With Norwex Too?
If you want to get hold of your first Norwex product, simply click on the buttons to get them from Lazada or Shopee.
You can also go to Norwex’s webpage to explore all its products.
The collections page displays bundle deals for more cost savings.
Note: Never use bleach, fabric softeners or dryer sheets on the Norwex cloths as it will reduce the cleaning effectiveness.
For small items, hand wash them separately from the rest of the laundry. If you start to collect big items such as bath towels as many users do over time, wash these items in a single load, i.e. Norwex items only.
Once you experience the Norwex magic, you will never stop loving it. This is what my friend said, so classic yet cute that I have gotten her permission to post it here.
