Tze Char King is set up by a group of Tze Char regulars, and they have hired chefs with more than 20 years of experience in the industry.
We tried out their food. It was superb. Check out the dishes we ate last weekend.
Yummy Dishes
Sri Lankan Chilli Crab
We ordered the extra-large one as there were 4 adults and 1 little crab lover. So I worried the portion would not be sufficient for all of us. Guess what, it was just nice.
The crab was certainly fresh and the succulent meaty flesh from the crab leg was divine. They have delivered their promise, which is to use only the freshest ingredients, Sri Lankan crabs of AAA grade which guarantees meaty claws.
Though I wish that the crab shell was more thoroughly cracked so that I could focus on enjoying the meal. The mildly spicy chilli crab was thick and sweet, went very well perfectly for me as I cannot tolerate spicy food.
Unfortunately, we missed out the man-tou, which was listed as side dish. Otherwise, it would have been a perfect combination.
White Beehoon with Seafood and Clam
The White Beehoon with Seafood and Clam was one of my favourites too. The noodles were very fragrant, while the soup base is thick and flavourful, yet not overly salty. The wet bee hoon is typically my must-order tze char food. This dish by Tze Char King is one of the best that I have tried.
The Trio Egg Spinach was fabulous too, nothing to complain about. Again, it is my tze char staple. Located beside the noodle is a box of jelly (cai-yan), complementary from the establishment.
Coffee Ribs
I love coffee ribs! Tze Char King had executed the dish nicely. The meat was very tender, easy to chew and no bones! Though some of my family members found the sauce too sweet for their palate.
Prawn Paste Chicken
The kids’ favourite, so it is a must-order. I must mention that prawn paste chicken ought to be enjoyed immediately once served to fully appreciate the dish. Once the dish cools down, the skin is no longer crispy and the dish won’t taste as good. Thus including this dish as part of the delivery package is tricky, but Tze Char King has executed it well.
Well, the delivery was super punctual. All the dishes came hot. For the Prawn Paste Chicken, Tze Char King cut a 2cm hole on the lid to ensure the food texture remained tip-top.
Cai-Po Tofu
Handmade tofu, topped with generous servings of dried radish, commonly known as cai-po. My sis loved this dish and praised the crunchy and savoury cai-po that was not as salty as others.
