This is the playground in Marine Cove, East Coast Park which we bother to drive to. What was it previously? If I didn’t remember wrongly, it was the MacDonald and bowling alley which I often visited in my younger days.

This is one of those super popular playgrounds that we only visit on weekdays. It is just too packed to enjoy ourselves if we drop by over the weekend.

The photos below were taken on various occasions spanned over a couple of years. The better versions replace the older ones.

We love to start off by climbing up the rope bridge for some high-element excitement.

The rope bridge connects directly to the three-storey play tower that is located right at the centre of the playground. There are 3 slides of different levels and a rope bridge.

Kids can also climb up the tower through a funnel net situated in the middle.

Below is a haven for smaller kids to play at their own pace when the bigger kids start to get excited and rowdy.

Lots of swinging options in the Marine Cove Playground

I am kind of fascinated by this see-saw in the Marine Cove Playground. The three balls act as weights that can be shifted from one end to another to help with balancing the see-saw. What a great way to introduce physics to children!

Ninja Corner

I love this balancing beam that my little girl is challenging herself with. The blue and yellow sections are individual pieces which will swerve from side to side when one move forward. Lots of care and balance required to complete the challenge.

Before leaving East Coast Park, we would always walk towards the beach to admire the sea view and enjoy the sea breeze.

Practicalities

If you have not been the Marine Cove Playground before, avoid going before 5 pm as a large part of the playground is not shaded. But if you insist in order to avoid the crowds, please bring and drink lots of water.

At the corner of the playground is the public toilet equipped with shower facilities and vending machines for drinks.

There are also several F&B outlets next to the playground, such as MacDonald, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaves, etc.

Going to Marine Cove Playground

Click on Google Map for exact location. If you are taking public bus, you can take Bus Service 401 from Bedok Interchange.

While this mega playground is indeed a fun-filled place for the children, I prefer the playground at Pasir Ris Beach. I think it is bigger and shadier than Marine Cove given the thick canopy that covers the entire playground.

  1. I think your pictures are beautiful and this looks like a fun place for the kids. I assume this is near a major shipping port with so many ships in the area.
