I have been using contour pillows for around 7 years.
Due to long gruelling hours of typing at the desk, bad sleeping posture and an S-spine (i.e. scoliosis), I suffered from neck pain for years. My side sleeping habit perpetuated the problem.
Other than regular yoga, another effective way that had helped me with managing the neckache was investing in a contour pillow, though yoga is no doubt the best option, at least for me.
I bought my first contour pillow – a memory foam one that came with a hefty price tag at $300+. The sales staff promised that my neck pain would go away. I was just so desperately in pain that I just had to try it out.
After experiencing the benefits of a contour pillow, I never looked back, other than the damage done to my wallet. I bought a second one years later. 2 weeks ago, Sigmund Home sent me my third one – Ergo Foam Tencel Pillow.
The best part about the Sigmund Home Ergo Foam Tencel Pillow? Its accessible price tag with quality neck support! Yeah!
Sigmund Home Ergo Foam Tencel Pillow
The medium firm Ergo Foam Tencel Pillow is designed for maximum comfort and support.
The gentle contours of the pillow are meant to curve at a certain angle to give support and cushion, ensuring that our spine remains aligned while we sleep.
Just like all my other contour pillows, the Ergo Foam Tencel Pillow supports my neck regardless of whether I am sleeping on my back or my side.
As a habitual side sleeper, I need to ensure that the larger end of the pillow is beneath the hollow of my neck, and the bottom end of the pillow touching my shoulder to support the curve of my neck.
On certain nights when my shoulders feel really strained, I like to add a thin layer of a folded blanket under the pillow to increase the height of the pillow further. Doing so can relieve my tense-up shoulder further.
The Tencel fabric used on the pillow is cooling too. It is made from the pulp of Eucalyptus trees, so breathable and cooling that we will not risk breaking into a sweat in the middle of the night. This is so important in our humid climate.
And of course, the Tencel fabric is removable for regular washing.
It is also worthy to note that the Ergo Foam Tencel Pillow is certified for OEKO-TEX® CLASS 1 standards, i,e. tested and confirmed that the materials used in the pillow do not contain any harmful substances.
People like me who is asthmatic and has sensitive skin and airways will also be pleased to know that the pillow 100% hypoallergic.
