Some of you probably know that we are suckers for nature, and our travel itinerary will usually include some nature getaway.
We stayed up in the mountains northwest of Doi Suthep National Park for the second time. Our accommodation for the earlier trip was in Proud Phu Fah*, which was an unforgettable experience. Imagine waking up to cool fresh air with birds chirping every morning.
For this trip, we opted for something more rustic to give the kids a brief farm life experience. Mori Natural Farm* is a 2-star bed and breakfast guesthouse surrounded by serenity. We stayed in their newly renovated barn house, which was clean and cosy. Everyone was blown away by our overnight experience there.
Mori Natural Farm – The Barn
There are 4 unique accommodations on the farm, varying in sizes to fit different travellers’ needs. Every house is designed and built by the proud owners Por and Mieng.
For our family of eight, we selected the Barn or otherwise known as the Family Loft to fit us all in.
The Interior
I love how the owners designed the interior of the barn. Reclaimed pieces of windows have been used to create an impressive piece of feature-wall in the lounge.
The barn consists of a lounge area with lots of movie options, alas in Thai, a kitchen, two bathrooms, one queen-size bed, two twin beds and two day-beds.
The view from the bedroom was fabulous. Hubby wanted to keep the windows opened all day long, but I feared birds and bugs would fly in.
The barn was so clean although it was on a working farm. I was sceptical of how the barn can be bugs-free but was convinced when the sky turned dark. Not a single lizard appeared anywhere – probably eaten up by birds and roosters living beside the barn.
It was unexpectedly cold at night with the temperature falling to probably 15-degree celsius. The additional blankets provided by the owners gave us so much warm.
The little ones awoke to the tranquil but cold morning, sat in the balcony to enjoy the cold air.
Other accommodations
The rest of the accommodations are smaller, for only two people in each unit.
Below is the view of the farm in the chilling morning.
The Farm and Our Breakfast
Mori Natural Farm is an organic farm that produces a variety of vegetables including corn, lettuces and strawberries.
The chicken coop next to our barn kept the kids busy.
Breakfast was provided and we were invited to select our own salad.
We ate the corn raw. It tasted sweet and juicy, so good that we asked for more.
Max, a new member of the farm, is a very well-trained and gentle dog. The kids loved him so much and could probably spend their entire stay playing with him.
I was joking with the owner that I may approach her again when I am older, to get a job there and relish the fresh air and green mountains they see every day. I will certainly age well there.
