If you dread the hot sun in Khao Yai, hopping all over cafes in Khao Yai is one of the best things to do. Have a cup of ice cream before you set off for anything else!
Dairy Home
Located at the entrance of the route towards Pak Chong, you will see a striking red building calling out for you. It’s impossible to skip this place if you are feeling dehydrated in a hot and sunny country!
The ice cream here is known to be organic. 2 scopes of ice cream cost 80 Baht. There are many interesting flavours to choose from, ranging from classic Thai tea to Coconut. Besides, you’ll be able to select from the range of cute cups to fill up.
Their business is doing so well that they have a second outlet just in the vicinity. The ice cream is not too sweet and this is all you need to start off the trip in the right way!
Pirom Cafe
Pirom Cafe is the place where you will see many people striking a pose for their next Instagram shot.
When we were seated inside the cafe having our lollipop chicken and spinach cheese, we witnessed more than 10 groups of people having multiple poses at the outdoor area with a DSLR. If you are looking for somewhere to have a cup of coffee and try out many OOTD poses, this is the place to go. To be honest, the food was just ok.
Yellow Submarine Coffee Tank
The architecture of this cafe is really unique. It feels like an abandoned site in the middle of nowhere. The front entrance of the cafe looks like some battle place, and to me, the mysterious ambience that surrounds the cafe is alluring.
I wouldn’t say their menu has a variety and one cup of coffee cost at minimum 90 Baht. You can choose to sit either in a dark indoor area or industrial outdoor area.
The cafe feels pretty exclusive as it was rather empty when we were there. Again, this is a very Insta-worthy cafe. Don’t believe me? Check it out on Instagram #yellowsubmarinecoffeetank, and you’ll know what I mean! There are more people photos than food photos.
Birder’s Lodge Cafe
Coupled with accommodation, the Birder’s Lodge Cafe has a Farmer’s market as well. There are different vendors in the area, bringing different items to sell over the weekends. You can find items like vegetables, fruits, jams and bread here. I remember it was not very extensive. You probably can finish your shopping within 15 minutes.
