PB Valley is one of the highly recommended top spots in Khao Yai; therefore, we went too. Ten adults and six kids, we had fun in the winery.
You may wonder how on earth kids could have fun in a winery. First, there are lots of little farm animals that the children could interact with, open spaces where they freely ran about and drank yummy juices while the adults drank wine and got tipsy.
For the kiddos
We booked a tour that would bring us around the winery. While waiting, the kids explored the mini farm and were pleased to find countless rabbits and chickens fenced up in the front yard. We were all amazed by the number of rabbits bouncing about in the yard. Every one of them was energetic and looked well-fed.
The kids visited the yard twice to feed and hang out with the bunnies. And twice, they refused to leave the compound.
And being a typical Singaporean who grew up with no kampung experience, I was impressed by this magnificent rooster.
A pond where swans gathered was on the other side of a dividing fence.
The PB Flower Park was another beautiful space the kids enjoyed -an open space with a few simple play structures – they ran wild while waiting for the winery tour to begin.

For the Adults
Since we made the trip to PB Valley, joining its winery tour is a must.
The winery conducts a 75-minute tour six times a day. The ticket price for adults is THB350. The price for kids between 4 to 20 years old is THB300 each, a little hefty since they are only drinking grape juice.
PB Vallery Winery and its wines have numerous awards, including the International Wine Challenge AWC Gold 2017.
Wines are traditionally produced in the Northern And Southern hemispheres between the 30th and 50th parallels. Yet Khao Yai Thailand manages to make quality wines between the 14th to 18th parallels.
Even though the weather can be as hot as 30℃ during the day, the temperature drops to 15℃ at night. This wide fluctuation in temperature is due to the higher latitude where Khao Yai sits and the secret to their thriving wine industry.
Unfortunately, the guide had an extremely heavy accent, and I could barely understand 10% of her explanation.
Visiting the winery from November to March could have been a better option since harvesting happens from January to March.
For now (June), we only get to see table grapes. And we are not allowed to pick any for our consumption.
Finally, it was time for the long-awaited wine testing session. The serving was generous, but we could not drink much as the alcoholic content was relatively high (mostly more than 12.5%)
EAT
We did not stop to try out the food in the Great Hornbill Grill Restaurant. It was a pity because there are many positive reviews on the restaurant for its food quality. So do stop by to try out if you are there.
