For the sake of a comfortable trip to Melaka with kids and our elderly parents, we hired a 10-seater from HG Travel & Tour, SG & MY Taxi again. The car ride from Singapore to Melaka excluding crossing the customs was just over 2 hours.
Our 3D2N Itinerary for Melaka with Kids
With a pair of 2-year-old twins tagging along, we did not want to be too ambitious with our Melaka itinerary. As you can tell from the outline below, we filled our tummies with delicious food more than anything else.

Dinner at Nyonya Makko Restaurant
Day 2

The Original Coconut Shake at Coconut Shake at 75200 Jalan Klebang

Melaka Thousand Tales of Adventure near Plaza Mahkota (check out my post here)

Dinner at an unidentified restaurant after our failure to get a table at Restoran Tong Sheng – the queue was just too long. According to the driver, we need to book a table in advance. See post by Miss Tam Chiak for her review.
Day 3
Maritime Museum (click here for my follow up post)
Head for home
大四喜香港点心楼 @ TaSiXiDimSum
Before setting out from Johor Bahru, our driver Frankie brought us to a dim-sum restaurant 大四喜香港点心楼 @TaSiXiDimSum that was unexpectedly satisfying. My in-laws and Hubby are the foodies, and they were delighted to find a place that serves such good food.
Find the restaurant at 11, Jalan Camar 1/3, Taman Perling Johor Bahru
Lunch at Hoe Kee Chicken Rice
Hoe Kee Chicken Rice has been around since 1962. I was first attracted by the decorations in the shophouse that seems to have brought us back to the olden days.
My kids certainly enjoyed the meal because they ate more than they usually do. My eldest girl had five rice balls all by herself even though the usual serving size is four chicken balls per pax. The chicken is full of flavour and unlikely Singapore’s chicken rice; the meat is shredded into smaller pieces.
Consuming the assam fish was a problem for me though as the sauce was ultra spicy. Even my in-laws who love spicy food find the dish overly hot.
Location:
468, Jalan Hang Jebat (located in Jonker Street), click here for map.
