I don’t usually do food review unless I really like the place. Otherwise it is somewhere outside of Singapore and worth mentioning.
So, Hubby brought us to somewhere refreshing for lunch yesterday. He said everyone would like the place. And yes, we were all happy.
Before you read on, you may want to know that we are a family with 4 kids below 9. So we appreciate a practical and family-friendly restaurant more than anything hippie or restrictive.
NOM – No Other Meaning
NOM is located in MacPherson CC and has been operating since April 2012. It started as a little shop in the MacPherson estate. Somewhere in the 2014 or 2015, they decided to expand and relocated into their current location.
When I first entered the premise, I was attracted by its bright clean lines with ample spaces to move about. At the end of the restaurant was a play corner, equipped with a few shelves of toys and books, as well as a mini replica of the Dragon Slide. Needless to say, my kids couldn’t wait to shoot for the slide.
What We Ate
We ordered quite a number of dishes for the 7 of us.
The most delectable dish was the Portobello Burger. The mushroom melted into my mouth before I could chew it.
The Chicken Teriyaki Burger was satisfying too. My salted egg prawn pasta tasted great, but heavy after a while, and I found the sauce too dry.
Amongst the kids’ dishes, the creamy ham pasta tasted the most delightful.
Why I like NOM
Other than the simple and clean layout as well as delicious food, the kids’ corner is the other reason for me to give the restaurant a thumbs up. The toys and slide in the corner managed to engage the kids for a while, giving us a breather and time to slowly enjoy our lunch.
