Skip this post, I am writing this entirely for myself because I can’t seem to move on without writing a post to review my 2018 and setting some kind of goals for 2019 before moving on to writing other stuff.
And I am writing this a little late because I was enjoying the slow living in December, coupled with year-end housekeeping and
Review of 2018
Be Thankful
I am thankful for having a community that made my 2018 a happier and smoothier one. A sister who is always there to help me with my 4 kids after she returns from work; a supportive hubby who allows me to listen to my gut, that is to stay home to care for the kids who need my presence; fellow mamas who understand and render their non-judging listening ears.
A Year of Resilience
Every year is a year of resilience. In 2018, my twin toddlers turned one and became very active. I spread myself very thin managing 2 active toddlers while guiding the elder ones with their school work, and attending to their tender emotions as and when they needed it.
Life is good. I don’t have ailing parents to look after, nor struggle to make ends meet. I live in a safe country with a stable government.
A Year of Success
Every year is a year of success too! As long as one is moving forward in his desired direction, rich in heart and mind, he is successful.
In 2018, coaching one of my children was tough. It took me tons of patience, love, perseverance, thinking and reading up to help my kid. I am so thankful that I was able to help.
Parenting is not just the school work. I want to bring my four children experiences. I am glad that I remained active and consistent in bringing them out and about, to the outdoors for nature and play, to the museums and galleries for exposures and experiences, as well as spending meaningful time at home.
Traffic to MyChirpyLife increased from 10k in 2017 to 30k in 2018. The blog was set up in Nov 2016, and I was slow in producing contents. Even till now, I am publishing posts on average once a week due to the stage of life that I am in. It is okay as long as I remain consistent in my production. I am in no hurry. At least, I was nominated for the Singapore Website Award 2018.
What’s Ahead in 2019?
I am a stay home mother and I blog.
I have no lofty goals. You will still see my kids and me in playgrounds, outdoors and places of interests. I will continue to blog, and hopefully, I get to publish more quality posts than 2018. Coaching the kids and inculcating the right values will remain as one of the top priorities for many years to come.
Three things that I need to put in more focus:-
I have neglected my yoga practice. Currently, my practice session is confined in the playground for perhaps 5 minutes before the twins run in different directions. I hope to do more as they mature along gradually, and with confidence, they will run in the same directions, together as a team.
I will read more parenting books. It is a matter of necessity because I need to coach better and to be more intentional in parenting my kids.
